Regional Championship continues Siciliano Ex-Shooting Ordinance 2010 and Sports Federation of Shooting Sports Siciliana ( www.fsts.it ), now in eleventh day, which was held Sunday, August 29 at the ETNA SHOOTING CLUB Sigonella (CT).
played were three categories: two reserved for former weapons ordinance, with iron sights and sniper, and the third called "Sport", devoted to modern weapons but not limited to optical or size.
Let's see how things went.
iron sights in the first surprise: the Palermo Federico Cuomo, referring to the province of Palermo of FSTS , won the first place, bypassing the usual occupants of the three steps of the podium with score of 96 +4 mouches made with a Remington P14.
In the second place, also from Palermo, Maurizio Pedicone with 95 +3 Carl Gustaf M96 obtained with the usual while the third was placed Hector Henry of Aci Bonaccorsi (CT) with 95 +1 pulling his Dragunov SVD. The fourth position was won by Gary Brancato, Ravanusa (AG), with a Smidth Rubin K31 and the score of 94 +4 mouches.
Joseph "Fifi" Carbone, a sore shoulder, this time he had to settle for fifth place.
Sniper In the category, again for former weapons ordinance, Ettore and Santo Arrigo Dibbennardo Comiso (RG) approach in general classification Pedicone, winning respectively the first and second place in the race, with the same score very high, 100 +5 mouches. The first place where the award for making Arrigo, also in this category with a Dragunov SVD, the first and only try to score, while Santo Dibbennardo with Mosin Nagant 91/30, got his first return and, under the rules, the first test made on equal points, exceeds that made later. In third place with Maurizio Pedicone Mosin Nagant 91/30 which has been the result of 98 +4 is the first evidence, to his only return. In fourth place Fifi Carbone (CT) with Carl Gustaf M41 / B and a score of 98 +3.
In category C, precision shooting sports, was Salvatore Turton Ravanusa (AG) Sako 75 to confirm the category leader with 97, made the first test. Behind him two shooters who have proven largely their skills with the optics: Ettore Arrigo Tikka T3 and Holy Dibbennardo with Savage Predator respectively by a score of 97, made the first return and 96 +1. Fourth place was won by Giuseppe Puntara Scicli a Sabatti Rover 880 and 96 points.
Many were the absences, such as "Lasagna Massimo and Giuseppe Marotta have inevitably affected the overall standings. In the category
iron sights firmly on his head Maurizio Pedicone with 204 points, followed by Giuseppe Carbone, with 167 points and John Canzano, who was absent at the eleventh race with 145. A leap forward for Federico Cuomo, climbing four places, rose to ninth place thanks to the last victory.
In the category Sniper, Pedicone still in the lead with 190 points, but his direct followers, and Arrigo Dibbennardo, reduce the distances 169 and 155 points respectively, both having passed in the race.
In Category Precision shooting is Salvatore Turturici to confirm its leadership by 142, extending to Maximum Lasagna, still in second place after two consecutive absences, to 99 points. The third position is occupied by Hector Henry with 74 points. The third place finish in the race brings Holy Dibbennardo to 51 points in seventh place overall.
The eleventh race was marked by a sweltering heat that has adversely affected the performance of the shooters and the same weapons. Many shooters have not achieved the results they expected but this has given more vitality to the show and lessons for all to improve their performance.
Also present was the vice president and founder of the FSTS Ranieri De Maria, with whom, in recent days, in a meeting with Salvo Petta, other members of the FSTS, sponsors and representatives of the polygons of the circuit, there was talk of new initiatives and a new regulation for the championship in which there will be future innovations that will enhance the performance, the competitive spirit of athletes and entertainment.
And last but not least, remember that the social commitment of FSTS devotes most of collection of each race of the Mediterranean Institute of Oncology (IOM) of Viagrande (CT) for research on cancer stem cells.
The appointment for the twelfth day is September 12 at Misilmeri (PA), at the Association of Fire breathing dragons in Contrada Roccabianca, where he will play only the categories related to the former order.
