Bread Slicing Guide Plans

Gideon De Carolis: board staff

Gideon De Carolis born in 1962 in New York where the father, from Puglia, he moved to the Fifty years on business. Soon interrupted his studies, after a brief period to be a waiter in the restaurant his father owns in Little Italy, Gideon embarked as a cabin boy on a cargo ship that is sailing between Baltimore and Puerto Limon (Costa Rica).

In the following years, travels from Colombia, Panama and Venezuela, but eventually decided to settle their own in Costa Rica, Cahuita, a small town about 40 km from Limon. Here he earned his living as a waiter, bartender, tour guide and selling to tourists just his first watercolors, painted during the rest periods from work. As a child, in fact, Gideon has always shown a deep interest in art in general, taking not only by his maternal grandfather's first name but also the passion for painting.

After spending several years in Cahuita, tired of the wandering life and driven by the desire to return to its roots, in December 1991 he returned to Italy and moved to the old farmhouse that the family still owns the Murge, halfway between Acquaviva delle Fonti and Altamura. Here restores antique furniture, works the land, especially farm animals but continued to paint and, supported in this by his parents, he began to exhibit his work in America where he obtained his first success establishing itself as a good watercolorist.

of considerable value, in this technique are its finished miniatures. Painter
eclectic and always open to undertake new methods and disciplines, De Carolis ranges with ease between painting, illustration and advertising, most recently, the development of photography as an artistic nouvelle peinture.
